Hair mesotherapy Aftercare: First 7 Days to Protect Results
By Belladonna laser&skin clinic | October 18, 2026
We’re in East Windsor on the Tecumseh Road East corridor, close to Lauzon Parkway and Forest Glade. If you’re coming in from Tecumseh, LaSalle, Amherstburg, Lakeshore, or even commuting across to Detroit, this timeline makes it easy to plan your first week.
The most important rule after hair mesotherapy is simple: keep your scalp clean, dry, and hands-off for the first 24 to 48 hours. That “don’t touch it” window matters, especially if you’re already excited about early changes like improved scalp condition and those tiny baby hairs starting to pop through. At our Windsor clinic, Hair meso therapy is a 60-minute session using high quality products designed to support healthy growth factors, including peptides and vitamins, while encouraging angiogenesis to nourish the hair bulb.
First 24 to 48 hours after scalp mesotherapy: keep it dry, cool, and calm
Right after meso therapy hair sessions, your scalp can look normal or slightly pink, and it can feel a little tender in spots. That’s your cue to go gentle. We generally recommend you treat the first 1 to 2 days like a “hands off” healing window.
Quick rules for the first 24 to 48 hours: Don’t wash or wet your hair, skip sweating and workouts, avoid heat (hot showers, steam), and keep your fingers out of your scalp.
What we want you to do
- Keep the scalp dry for 24 to 48 hours. If you need to shower, keep the spray off your scalp and avoid hot water and steam.
- Sleep on a clean pillowcase and try not to rub your scalp into it.
- If you feel itchy, use light fingertip taps, not scratching. No scalp brushes or vigorous scalp massage yet.
What to avoid (and why it matters)
Sweat, friction, and heat can irritate treated skin and make you feel more tender than you need to. So for at least 48 hours, skip hard workouts, hot yoga, saunas, and anything that ramps up heat on the scalp. And please don’t pick at any tiny bumps or spots you notice. Let your scalp settle.
If you’re a shift-worker in East Windsor or you’re juggling school runs and work, this is the easiest approach: book so you can keep that first day quiet, then come back to your normal routine gradually.
Days 3 to 7: the habits that help hair growth therapy stay on track
Once you’re past the first 48 hours, most people feel back to normal. That’s also when it’s tempting to go right back to everything. Don’t rush it. Those early improvements people get excited about, like a healthier-feeling scalp, reduced shedding, and the start of baby hairs, tend to show best when you keep irritation low for the full first week.
Still skip these until your first week is done
- Pools, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms for 48 to 72 hours (chlorine and heat are a lot for a fresh scalp).
- Hair dye, bleach, perms, relaxers for at least 7 days. If your scalp is still sensitive, wait longer.
- Tight hats and tight ponytails if they rub or pull. A loose, clean hat is fine if you need one.
Windsor weather note: As we head into colder October days and indoor heating kicks on, scalp dryness and flaking can get worse fast. Keep showers lukewarm, avoid high heat styling, and focus on gentle moisture instead of “scrubbing it clean.”
If you commute, travel, or you’re bouncing between Windsor and Detroit, pack a gentle shampoo and skip dry shampoo for that first week if it tends to irritate you. Simple is safer.
Shampoo, topicals, and styling after meso therapy for hair (keep it gentle)
After hair mesotherapy, the goal is to support your scalp barrier, not strip it. We like gentle, pH-balanced shampoos and simple routines for the first week. If a product stings, feels “hot, ” or makes you itchy, park it for now.
What to use
- A gentle, fragrance-light shampoo and a lightweight conditioner (keep conditioner mostly on lengths, not your scalp).
- Cool to lukewarm water and soft towel blotting instead of rough drying.
- Low-heat styling. If you can air dry, even better for the first few washes.
What to pause (unless we’ve told you otherwise)
Hold off on strong exfoliating scalp treatments, high-percentage acids, and heavy oils that trap heat. For minoxidil or other medicated topicals, we usually say to wait until your scalp is calm and closed up, often 24 to 48 hours, but it depends on what you’re using. If you’re not sure, ask us before you restart it. We’d rather answer a quick question than have you irritate your scalp and set yourself back.
Simple routine that works for most people: Wait 24 to 48 hours, wash gently, keep heat low, and don’t add five new scalp products at once. If you want us to look at your product lineup, bring it in and we’ll tell you what to keep and what to pause.

When to reach out to our Windsor team (normal vs “call us today”)
We keep the vibe calm here, but we’re also straight with you. Mild tenderness, a bit of redness, or a tight feeling can be normal right after scalp mesotherapy. What we don’t want is anything that’s getting worse day by day.
"Mai is the best! she always informs me about the details of my procedure and I always feel relaxed when I come to her"
one of our regulars
Call us right away if you notice: worsening pain, spreading redness, heavy swelling, fever, or any pus-like drainage.
And if you’re the kind of person who likes to plan ahead, our first-time Hair meso therapy guide answers the practical stuff, like how to prep and what a 60-minute session usually feels like. We’re easy to get to along Tecumseh Road East, so quick follow-ups fit nicely before or after shifts near Lauzon Parkway and Forest Glade.
Your Hair meso therapy plan works best when aftercare is easy to follow
Hair growth therapy is all about consistency, and we’ve seen that simple aftercare is the aftercare people actually stick to. Keep the first 48 hours quiet, keep the first week gentle, and tell us if something feels off. That’s how you protect the work we did in session.
